September
1, 2009 – One of our most exciting meetings of the season! Pot
luck dinner, challenge presentation, school supply donations
(community service time to stuff back packs). A great
"kick off" for our new year!!

2009* – Kim Fess and Rebecca Heinze, "Too
Quirky Quilters," are two women who love quilting,
music and just having fun. They have combined these
activities into a unique and entertaining program for our quilt
guild with song parodies they have written about their
adventures and "misadventures" in quilting, while sharing a
trunk show of their own quilts.

December
1, 2009 – Barb Garrett, "With a Mother's
Love." Barb is a well known quilt historian who will
be relaying the history of quilting with examples of doll
quilts. Also the announcement and instructions for the
exciting 2010 Challenge.
January 5, 2010
– Community Service – Hands On - Making preemie quilt kits,
tracing new baby bear patterns for the NIC-U, turning bear
bodies, sharing new directions for new requests by the NIC-U.
Please come prepared to plan some new projects. New fabric
has been donated for our projects. Please bring any
flannel that you are willing to donate for preemie quilts and
sewn bear bodies for trimming and turning.
February 2, 2010
– Game night - Weather permitting, this will be a relaxed
game night for fun and chatting with friends. Bingo and
"Truth or Myth" will be offered with some small prizes.
Bring along hand sewing if you want something to do as you play!
Come join us for a fun evening.

2010 – Cheryl Lynch, "Personalizing Your
Quilts." Cheryl is a well known quilt designer who is
noted for her Judaic quilt patterns and her art quilts.
The lecture talks about using the computer to print on
fabric and other techniques that will make your quilt uniquely
reflect you.
April
6,
2010* – Mary W. Kerr, "Motherless Quilts." Mary
is an AQS certified appraiser, quilt maker and author. Her
book, Vintage Revisited will be published in early 2010.
This lecture features a lively trunk show and discussion about
working with orphan blocks and tops. Mary will show
numerous examples from her collection of multigenerational
quilts and new quilts from unrelated blocks and tops. This
lecture is a great source of ideas for completing projects
from yesteryear.
April 8, 2010 -
WORKSHOP - "Texture Magic Tote"
- 9am to 4pm at the LCHS. A new workshop is being offered
this spring to help people learn how to use Texture Magic.
Christine Kling is the area representative for this product and
she will be leading the workshop. Workshop registration is
$25. Christine will be selling us the patterns ($9) and
the Texture Magic ($12) separately. Please sign up for the
program during the March meeting or email Michele McLaughlin.
Payment for the workshop is due by or on April 6th (the April

2010 – Barbara Lenox, "When you Work with a
Plaid, the Plaid Works with You." Barbara is a renown
designer and teacher. This lecture will discuss "exploring
the plaid profile" - a combo of characteristics determined by
both grid type and color. Purchasing and strategies for
using plaid fabric in your quilts will be highlighted.
June 1,
2010 – Jeannie Campbell, "Creating a
Landscape Pattern When You Don't Know How To Draw."
Jeannie Campbell has been sewing for 40 years. She
attended Pratt Institute studying fashion design. It
wasn't until 1989 that quilting became her passion. Her
quilts have appeared in many local shows as well as Quilt
Odyssey in Hershey and Lancaster Quilters' Heritage
Celebration. She will be discussing her method of
creating a landscape quilt which is tailored for those of us who
do not draw well.

2010 – Michele McLaughlin, "Project Sunway."
Sunbonnet Sue is one of the most beloved - and maligned- quilt
patterns. Michele has an extensive collection of patterns
and quilts using Sue and will be relaying the history of the
pattern. If you have an old SBS quilt you would like to
show for Show and Tell, please bring it along!
August 5, 2010 -
WORKSHOP - Jane
Hamilton of "Scrap Attack" fame will return to do her "Creative
Pen" workshop. During this workshop Jane will teach us how
to create impressive quilt labels. This workshop is
promoted as a no stress and no artistic talent needed.
Permanent fabric pen design instruction including writing,
leaves, and flower techniques will be given. Price for
workshop is $25.00.
*Admission
of $5.00 for non-members.
