October 6, 2009* –  Kim Fess and Rebecca Heinze, "Too Quirky Quilters," are two women who love quilting, music and just having fun.  They have combined these activities into a unique and entertaining program for our quilt guild with song parodies they have written about their adventures and "misadventures" in quilting, while sharing a trunk show of their own quilts.

November – No Meeting

March 2, 2010Cheryl Lynch, "Personalizing Your Quilts."  Cheryl is a well known quilt designer who is noted for her Judaic quilt patterns and her art quilts.  The lecture  talks about using the computer to print on fabric and other techniques that will make your quilt uniquely reflect you.

April 6, 2010* Mary W. Kerr, "Motherless Quilts."  Mary is an AQS certified appraiser, quilt maker and author.  Her book, Vintage Revisited will be published in early 2010.  This lecture features a lively trunk show and discussion about working with orphan blocks and tops.  Mary will show numerous examples from her collection of multigenerational quilts and new quilts from unrelated blocks and tops.  This lecture is a great source of ideas  for completing projects from yesteryear.

April 8, 2010 - WORKSHOP - "Texture Magic Tote" - 9am to 4pm at the LCHS.  A new workshop is being offered this spring to help people learn how to use Texture Magic.  Christine Kling is the area representative for this product and she will be leading the workshop.  Workshop registration is $25.  Christine will be selling us the patterns ($9) and the Texture Magic ($12) separately.  Please sign up for the program during the March meeting or email Michele McLaughlin.  Payment for the workshop is due by or on April 6th (the April meeting).  Click on this link to see the pattern.

May 4, 2010Barbara Lenox, "When you Work with a Plaid, the Plaid Works with You."  Barbara is a renown designer and teacher.  This lecture will discuss "exploring the plaid profile" - a combo of characteristics determined by both grid type and color.  Purchasing and strategies for using plaid fabric in your quilts will be highlighted.

June 1, 2010Jeannie Campbell, "Creating a Landscape Pattern When You Don't Know How To Draw."  Jeannie Campbell has been sewing for 40 years.  She attended Pratt Institute studying fashion design.  It wasn't until 1989 that quilting became her passion.  Her quilts have appeared in many local shows as well as Quilt Odyssey in Hershey and Lancaster Quilters' Heritage Celebration.  She will be discussing her method of creating a landscape quilt which is tailored for those of us who do not draw well.
